The reason its grossly overpriced is because they send more money to Washington and get back only half,maybe even less.
With all the rich stars living in Cali,maybe they could increase taxes on the wealthy who live in that state?
Plus,what does Cali actually do about its border with Mexico? How did it come to have such a huge problem with illegals in the first place?

Well when you are not the majority there is not much you can do regarding policy making. That is how politics works in this country. The majority vote makes policy.
Where else could a 19 year old single mom get $1326/month just in welfare payments ? (that figure before cuts to her payments)
With no skills and a kid there's no way she could make that kind of money working and pay daycare.
