It is the state that lets this welfare travesty continue so how can one not slam the state?

You have a point, but there are millions of us who may not have any political power, but we are intelligent, hard-working, and self-supporting and we greatly lament the current situation.
Slam all you want, the bleeding-heart-liberal socialist-types who are currently running this state.

TX pays for too much for illegals as well.
Still, at least we have our limits. It seems as though CA does not.

Maybe there is hope for California.
I genuinely like the people I know in CA, but they are all very liberal.

Arizona used to cover maintenance dialysis for illegals as well until the state got a clue.

Out of curiosity, What do you do with them? Can you get them back over the border before they die? I'm serious, I don't know the specifics of dialysis.

Every illegal alien will get emergency medical treatment in every state in America just as every uninsured person gets treatment.
The dirty little secret is that America already has universal healthcare like Europe.

But in California they get more than emergency treatment.

I personally don't do anything with them. When the patient is stable they are discharged from the hospital. They will not receive dialysis again at a hospital in Texas unless their life is in imminent danger. California will pay for dialysis three times a week for illegal immigrants. I think they may be the only state that still does so. Nevada had several hospitals close due to the cost of providing dialysis for illegal immigrants. Nevada, like Arizona, no longers pays for maintenance dialysis for illegal immigrants. People who need dialysis receive treatments three times a week if they quailfy under the ESRD program set up for US citizens. Many of these immigrants will not get dialysis in their home countries due to the rules governing healthcare in their country. Should the US taxpayer shoulder the cost of dialysis for people who would not even qualify for treatment in their country of origin?

Have you ever seen what is going on at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Illegals get full treatment in Texas.
Do you think all those South Dallas gunshot victims have insurance when they're taken to Parkland.

Not exactly. Illegal immigrants will not receive dialysis treatments unless the dialysis is determined to be necessary to keep the patient alive.
