Police killed a college bound, unarmed, 18-year old kid with a tazer in Cincinnati (where I am) earlier this year. Usually police are pretty good folks, but the bad ones can be tragically bad.
The thing that gets me is when police aren't held accountable. If they kill someone in any situation other than one of self-defense, it should be a crime. Police don't have a separate set of rules that apply to them.
I'm guessing the cop was white and the kid was black. Not one to typically draw the race card, but it seems an unarmed black kid gets killed by police at least once a year in Cincinnati.

I don't know, but I'll wager he was not black. Not that many blacks play darts from my experience. Could be, of course.
This is why some people are more afraid of cops than criminals. At least a criminal has to consider the possibility of being punished when they commit a crime. A cop knows that he can count on the support of fellow officers and get off scot free for just about anything.
When will the few good cops do something other than circle the wagons and defend the sociopaths they currently work with?
Cops tend to burn out, particularly in high crime areas. You deal with complete garbage day in and day out, eventually you take on that aggressive demeanor with everyone you come in contact with.
I think 10 years is plenty long enough to serve on a police force, depending on the area, and they should then be able to retire with a partial pension.
Its not just cops but anybody in a position of authority can begin to lose control. Teachers, politicans, judges, anybody. There are case afters case of it happening.
We all know people who want to become cops are people on power trips, just like politicians.
No, WE don't all know that, thank you. You might but I know better, having worked in, and going back to, public safety.
Tell you what, all the people here who hate the police, have the courage of your convictions and never, ever call for help from them again. If you do then you're hypocrites.
Apparently he can't do whatever he wants since his ass has been arrested and he's waiting trial.
Yes, and we all know how likely it is that a cop will receive a just punishment. Cops have shot unarmed people in the back on video and received less jail time than a person caught with a few grams of marijuana. When will the few good apples stand up and do something other than defend the murderers with a badge?
I kinda know this dude, more like know of this dude than personally know. The other part of the story has been left out and I'm hearing there was another gun involved. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out.
