it's a ****ing piece of **** legislation and i'll tell you why: my mother has to wait six months before she can get new healthcare because she moved from one state to another. she has bipolar disorder and NEEDS therapy as well as medication, which are both very expensive without insurance. so she's paying out of pocket and going to a ****ty free clinic until her coverage kicks in.
I thought Obama was gonna actually revolutionize health care but he left me sorely disappointed.
On this, i will agree wholeheartedly. Now you and i might disagree on what "revolutionize" means, but for me, i mean Single Payer Healthcare....the whole kit and kaboodle.
I am quite disappointed that we couldn't get it, but the truth is, with guys like Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman, there was no chance it would pass. I don't like the HC bill, but i'm reserving full judgement until 2014 when the full provisions kick in.
Since the GOAL of obamacare is to eliminate private insurance, that will change unless repealed/struck down by the court.
So, why would private insurance companies want to commit suicide? Republicans tend to promote the idea that Obamacare was written to benefit private insurance companies.
Would you all please make up your mind first?

Some of the comments on this thread are kind of sad. There are clearly individuals that value their dollars over the lives of others. Their parsimony is all the more ridiculous as it is misplaced. It is far more efficient - and ultimately cheaper for the taxpayer - to give people access to insurance and the ability to have proper medical coverage than the alternative which is to show up at the ER every time there is a problem.
I think he was wondering why you weren't helping before you were forced to do so.
Oh...
Because i was too damn busy paying for useless wars that get soldiers killed for nothing. Yea, i was forced to pay for that stuff too.
