The arson bit is amusing, because it means they must have set fire to something else in the process of burning the flag. If not, well, that department is going to be in a wonderful legal battle for the next couple of months.

Not sure why this is always such a huge deal. The right has been ruled as protected under our Constitution.

While it may be protected it's highly offensive to many people. The irony here is they are burning the flag of a nation in what must be one of a few where they won't be jailed or even killed for it.

burning the flag is symbolic of burning the country.
