Myself. I'm a 'real' American.

I'm 1/2 Native American; 1/2 White. I'm around people who speak my tribal language on a regular basis, and that language has been spoken on this continent for thousands of years; long before immigration from European countries, which was followed by immigration from all over the world.

"Real" Americans are people whose ancestors are either indigenous to this continent, or who immigrated from any country across the globe.

What a 'real' American is not is only White Americans descended from European immigrants.
