For any one to decide how another family should handle grief is a desecration.

Some police around Dallas decided how a mother grieved the murder of her sons was weird and she was convicted and executed based on how she responded to her loss.

Y'all need to be careful.

So I guess we can only consider it typical right-wing hypocrisy that we don't hear the people who so self-Righteously label Colmes as "vile" also labeling Ann Coulter as "vile" for her comments on how the 9/11 widows handle(d) their grief, eh?

What I do object to is the fact that you and other people use the word "liberal" as if what you and others subjectively define as liberal have a monopoly on the negative traits of the human race.
Well, just look at some of the responses from the resident lefties - pretty much the same as colmes.

Are every one of these people self identified liberals or are you just assigning them the label because it fits your pre-conceived notion of what a liberal is? The point is that yes I agree with you that Colmes and some people who agree with him are saying it because they identify with the liberal label but being a "liberal" whatever that word means does not inherently predispose someone to a specific belief about how to respond to how someone else responds to a death of a young child. Also if the roles were reversed one would have to be naive to believe that some conservatives wouldn't attack a liberal over something similar for ideological reasons. Human beings treat other human beings like garbage in general, they don't need a specific ideological political label as an excuse.

Coulter's pretty much the same as Colmes too but that's OK, eh?

As several posters have said, everyone deals with death differently and staying with the child in the hospital for several hours often happens, however, taking the dead child home to the children I do question, after a Google I find several of their children were under 6 at th time so I do find it inappropriate, but it's his family. Personally, I find it creepy to take a dead child home to show your very young children, there are better ways to deal with the grief and it certainly isn't the norm today.

Isn't it obvious? We liberals--every last one of us--hate babies and hunt them for sport. There's no other explanation--as some conservatives seem to think.

I too think it's odd. I don't think I could do that myself, but hey, to each his own, I suppose.

He said this on Fox News today and was deservedly pummeled by Lowry.

Alan Colmes: The way Santorum dealt with the death of his child sure was crazy « Hot Air

Scroll down for video.

Apparently, the Santorums got wind of his vile, flippant comments.

What was so crazy about what they did?

Rick Santorum: Alan Colmes called to apologize | The Right Scoop

Wow, so crazy. Staying with your dead child for a few hours in the hospital, then taking him home so the other children can meet him and say their goodbyes.

See, this is how liberals like Colmes think, that something as loving as what the Santorums did was "crazy".

What is wrong with people like alan colmes?

Colmes is right.

Santorum's action was weird, to say the least. More like bizarre.

There is no doubt that what Santorum and his family did was bizarre, bordering on insane.

The faux outrage about the comment made by Colmes is hilarious. Santorum has built his entire political career on the hateful, hurtful things that he says about other people. I find it galling that a man that supports laws that would prevent a lifelong gay couple from seeing each other in the hospital for even a few minutes is asking for people to allow him and his family the freedom to deal with the loss of a child in the manner in which they see fit.

If Santorum wants to deal in hatred, he better have the guts to take some in return.
