It's going to support a very large percentage of the population that does not support themselves. And I'm sure many of you have seen my posts documenting the fact that those receiving public assistance have a birth rate 3 times that of those who actually earn the means to support the children they bear:

The welfare-dependent class is growing exponentially, 3 times the rate of those who have to pay to support them. It's simply not sustainable. The math doesn't lie.
What do you expect? The rich are getting richer. The rest of us, middle class and lower class are getting poorer. Unless this trend reverses, it will only further what you talk about.

Funny how the rhetoric continues. Do you know how foolish you look blaming one sector of politics, not because of facts, but because of your narrow minded ideology. The problems started long, long, long (10 more longs), before GWB. You'd be better off thanking the liberal wankers who thought, and continue to think, that you can pay for a nanny state on the backs of the true producers. Then they whine about jobs leaving the country, yet proclaim the rich don't create jobs.

The progressionists want their cake but give little credit to those providing the sugar.

Eventually you run out of other people's money.....a concept that Liberals have never been able to embrace.
Of course it is in decline for the majority of the country. That's what happens when the top elite are allowed to buy our government. No-one actually thinks that they would be setting policies to benefit the majority of the country do they?

There seems to be an apparent disconnect here.

Most agree that the CEO's that run the large corporations are not in it for the goodwill of the country, but in it for themselves and their shareholders.

So, why is there a disconnect when these same CEO's buy politicians, or better yet become politicians. Do you think their going to change their philosophy and do what is good for the country?

No, their going to continue enriching themselves and their cronies.

And look at Wall Street - Banks - CEO's and the top elite in the government.

They are all doing great!

DUH!

No. The rich have a smaller share of the wealth now than they did during Clinton's terms.

Table 1, here:
Who Rules America: Wealth, Income, and Power

Couple that (and the resultant decreaing tax revenues because the top 1% pays an effective federal income tax rate 3 times that of the bottom 90% - I'll provide a citation, if you wish), with the 3 times higher birth rate of the welfare-dependent, and how can you NOT see an impending collapse of the welfare system?

Then you MUST do something to change the government's policy of paying the welfare-dependent to do nothing other than breed.

Things like what you said are why we are on the decline.

The Patriot Act, Dept of Homeland Security, TSA!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about big government! You're just another clueless right wing "conservative" that lives in lalala land like all the leftie loonies.

The massive billion dollar bailouts started with Bush and have contiued with Obama. Let's see nothing spells corporate WELFARE like a $600 billion defense industry propped up by huge government contracts and endless wars. Nothing spells fiscal conservatism like big agricultural subsidies right? But my god some inner city family has to apply for WIC and it's damn those sociailst left leaning loonies!!!!!!!!

The left is as corrupt as the right and they are BOTH spending too much of our money!
The Patriot Act was resigned by Barack Obama. If there were big government objection, he wouldn't have signed it, but he did, so that point is moot.

DHS and TSA were largely a consolidation of existing agencies, programs, and policies. DHS' growth has become troublesome, but you can't blame it on Bush. The growth has accumulated under the Barack Obama Administration including the disaster that is Janet Napolitano.

Bush spent $350B of the $700B TARP. He specifically left the remaining half for Obama to either spend or send back to the Treasury. Obama proceeded to spend it. Accordingly, only $350B of the TRILLIONS in bailout funds spent by Obama can be attributed to Bush. Again, you are reaching in an attempt to absolve Barack Obama of any responsibility.

You make an attempt to seem neutral, but lets be honest, you hate conservatives more than you hate liberals. It's not like anyone considers GWB a true conservative. And you love Barack Obama and Democrats. So why the false flag?

The OP piece was spot on. We refuse to acknowledge it or speak of it.
Until we do come to terms with it then we'll just keep edging closer to the abyss.

The market crashed in 1929 and there was deep denial of any major problems for years. It wasn't until 1933 did it come to a head with the seizure of all safety deposit boxes by the USG.

If history serves to repeat then 2012 will be our awakening.
