CNN - Is America In Denial About It's Decline? - YouTube

This makes me very sad.
What has this country come to?

It will take AT LEAST another 8 years to fix the mess that George Dumbya Bush and the Republicans created. Yes, it's that bad.

I agree America is in decline. I don't agree that most cornbread and apple pie loving American's are in denial. Those of us who have been paying attention see the fall of this great nation and have seen it coming for years. And I don't hesitate for one minute to attribute the Lion's Share of the decline to Liberalism, the Welfare State, and Entitlement Mentality.

Eventually you run out of other people's money.....a concept that Liberals have never been able to embrace.

Eventually you run out of other people's money.....a concept that Conservatives have never been able to embrace.

And I won't hesitate for one minute to attribute the lion's share of the decline to our asinine willingness to poke our nose into places all around the world where it doesn't belong while ignoring what's happening at home where it does belong. Both sides of the aisle share in that stupidity.

I don't think its fair to place the blame one one sides policies. The decline has been compounding over time and only now do we begin to notice it.

We should solve the problem rather than ****** and moan about who started it.

You really believe that $1 Trillion dollars and 10 years is the difference between decline and ascent?

Surely you don't.

And even better, why is $1T in debt under Bush the cause of our decline, but that same trillion responsible for our recovery under Obama

Exactly.

Where's the money going?

Take a look for yourself... Figure 9 and Table 10 (page 33), here:
http://www.taxfoundation.org/files/wp1.pdf (broken link)

It's going to support a very large percentage of the population that does not support themselves. And I'm sure many of you have seen my posts documenting the fact that those receiving public assistance have a birth rate 3 times that of those who actually earn the means to support the children they bear:
//www.city-data.com/forum/22262778-post11.html

The welfare-dependent class is growing exponentially, 3 times the rate of those who have to pay to support them. It's simply not sustainable. The math doesn't lie.
