Well hey, might as well get rid of state borders then. So we can all live in unity with no chance of staying in the country if we don't like one rule, because you know, the federal government should have absolute power.

This coming from the "small government" crowd...lol. Government has no business in what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

But some states have already tried to ban these activities, and many of them were Democratic ones.

These laws were ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2003.

No liberal here seems to remember the early 2000's.. Lawrence v. Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

New York didnt reverse their laws until 2000, Pennsylvania 1995, etc

If we ever see a return to anti-sodomy laws, it would most likely happen the same way that FDA regulation of cigarettes did. It would be justified on the grounds that health costs are too much of a drain on the public treasury.

It seems unlikely now but suppose a new STD were to emerge even worse than HIV. With ObamaCare now law of the land there would be great pressure to control costs by putting in "reasonable, common sense" regulations on oral and anal sex practices. And enforcement of the regs would "create jobs" don't cha know.

It's a non issue to me, they could ban it but they don't have a way to enforce it unless your caught in public and then your only getting what you ask for.

There are tons of archaic laws on every state's books. Many of them were made into law 100-200 years ago. They are so old, no one even knows they exist, and when states do find them, they are repealed.

Weird U.S.A Laws
