"72% of Guantanamo detainees who finally were able to obtain just minimal due process (which is what a habeas hearing is) — after years of being in a cage without charges — have been found by federal judges to be wrongfully detained. These are people who are part of what the U.S. Government continues to insist are “the worst of the worst” who remain, and whose release is being vehemently contested by the Obama DOJ."
If the US has had custody of these people for this long and STILL cannot come up with any charges to bring them up on, then the US has no right to hold them. 99% of these people, frankly, should have been let go years ago or never locked up in the first place. Those who think otherwise, I seldom wish ill on anyone, but I truly hope you're one day detained indefinitely with no rights and with nobody knowing what ever happened to you.
Care to debate how long until one of these wonderful innocent peasants blows up himself plus some women and kids in Europe or North America? Hope all 72 of his virgins are sheep, goats, and Rosie Odonnel.

If the Israelis can release nearly a 1000 people they consider terrorists, then the US should either release the 171 detainees or charge them and let the BOP deal with them. GITMO needs to be closed down and handed back to the Cuban gov't.
Fact is we don't really care about the afghan people or the taliban right now. We do care that the oil continues to flow to asia traded in US dollars. That is what all this negotiating nonsense is. Hell half the guys we let go have been recaptured on the battlefield. If you don't think so use your browser as I'm tired of supplying links to loon lefties who then just run after they are made to be fools. There is a reason we never hear about the guys recaptured.
