His jobs bill didn't pass. His new program is "We can't wait" and he's not using Fed money to create 250K summer jobs for minority youth.
He said no taxpayer money will be used yet several Federal agencies committed to hiring youth over the summer..where is that funding coming from if not taxpayer money ?
Let's see if Congress has any comments on this one.
The President proposed $1.5 billion for high-impact summer jobs and year-round employment for low-income youth ages 16-24 in the American Jobs Act as part of the Pathways Back to Work fund. When Congress failed to act, the Federal government and private sector came together to commit to creating nearly 180,000 employment opportunities for low-income youth in the summer of 2012, with a goal of reaching 250,000 employment opportunities by the start of summer, at least 100,000 of which will be placements in paid jobs and internships.

We could create a huge number of decent jobs if we had Federal Agencies hire directly instead of using "labor contractors" to provide underpaid illegals to do the summer work.
This will disproportionately affect minorities....particularly black youth.....which says to me that the President of the United States of America is engaging in the politicization of job creation at the behest of a Black Community who sees him as having abandoned them since the inauguration.
In other words, never underestimate the power of election year politics. Barack Obama cares about getting re-elected. He doesn't care about short-term jobs for you or anyone else.

More government waste. Here in the DC area, they have a jobs program a goody from the Marion Barry days. Folks still vote and support him based on that program alone. Anyway nowadays the kids just sit in a room and collect a paycheck they don't actually do anything.
Oh and then their buddies mug them for their loot.

1- Why do you hate the idea?
2- Do you prefer food stamps/unemployment checks instead?
