And there are plenty of 'stories' by EX ex-gays who said that they felt they had to lie.

Some of the Ex-leaders of the "Ex-gay" movement like Michael Bussee one of the founders of Exodus have explained why they lied. And apologised for all the harm they caused to gays and lesbians.

There is also no reliable scientific evidence to show that change is really possible.

Even Christian psychologists (honest ones anyway) like Dr Warren Throckmorton and Mark Yarhouse, have changed their views because of the studies they themselves did.

Actually, the reason most cited for suicide had to do with a relationship breakup. People with mental health issues are the people that commit suicide. Actually, it made a lot of sense to have it listed as a mental health issue and that is why it doesn't compute as to whether it is a choice or not. People don't choose mental health problems and those mental health problems are caused by the experiences that one has had most of the time. Before it was pushed so hard to be removed as a mental health disorder, I believe there was more tolerance. People with mental health disorders often feel they are normal and what they experience is natural so asking them to be the judge..................One may not choose their inclination toward something but they choose whether or not to act on those inclinations. People do not choose to be mentally ill.

Once that show started airing, I knew that girls were right up there with chocolate, soft drinks and pinball arcades.

Although it might have been even earlier... with the TV show "Gilligan's Island." "Mary Ann" was the dream girl of millions of teenage boys including myself!
So how was your attraction a 'choice'?

BS.... it's because of alien abductions, not coon dogs.

I mean it's just common sense that aliens turn people gay. Anal probes and all that....

The OP is never going to get it.
I wonder if people who think that homosexual orientation is a choice will ever "get it".

It's the extremist religious conservatives who keep making it an issue. They just keep loudly bleating on and on and on "Homosexuality is a choice!"

And they never have any evidence-based information to support their illogical stance- because there is none.

Most other rational intelligent people already know homosexuality is not a choice.

You have the choice to act on it or not.

Right?

And you have the choice to act on your heterosexuality or not too.

So?

If I had an affliction like homosexuality, bestiality or pedophilia I think I could abstain.

You are not seriously saying that homosexuality is a 'mental health issue' are you? What's the psychopathology?
