WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday he is willing to go before the NAACP and urge blacks to demand paychecks, not food stamps.

Gingrich told a town hall meeting at a senior center in Plymouth, N.H., that if the NAACP invites him to its annual convention this year, he'd go there and talk about "why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps."

He also said he'd pitch a new Social Security program aimed at helping young people, particularly African-American males, who he said get the smallest return on Social Security.

It's nice to see that Gingrich picked up some good ideas from Emma Goldman (early 20th century anarchist, if you didn't know) who said - “If they don't give you work,” “ask them for bread. If they deny you bread, take it!”

I wonder what Gingrich think about this plan for black (and white) action?

The question is: how great is Obama for America???

Politicians shouldn't be promising illegals ANYTHING!!! They are not citizens.
Yes -- black unemployment rates are rising. Immigrant latinos did better than ever in 2011, remittances to Mexico were considerably up. They surpassed $2 billion a month.

But the report by the Department of Labor also revealed the news that Black unemployment had inched upward from 15.5 percent to 15.8 percent. It is a stinging reminder of how African-Americans continue to remain outside of the nation’s economic mainstream.

Black unemployment rate stays unchanged at 15.8% in 2011 - Jan. 6, 2012

For the country as a whole, the unemployment rate fell in 2011. That's good news, right?

Not so much for African Americans.

As the economy slowly improved last year, the unemployment rate fell for both whites and Latinos.

Decrease in unemployment can also mean that is when UI ran out for many after collecting it for 99 weeks. The majority on UI are white. Job growth looked good also due to the hiring of temporary staff for the holiday season.

Actually that would be you liberals who run around creating threads about how the GOP hate amricans and how they wont pass bills, and then celebrate success in the economy, even though the bills werent passed

Not only that -- while Newt is lecturing the blacks, he's got a new guest worker program in mind to bring in millions more foreign workers. And somehow he failed to mention the hispanics (or whites) living off food stamps because there are some very high numbers of food stamp recipients there too.

Lightbulb Gingrich to black people...

"You aren't going to vote for me anyway, so I'll use you for scapegoats. Thank you very much."

The same calculations are used for blacks as for whites.

Again, the unemployment rate fell because UI ran out for many people. It doesn't mean that they obtained jobs. They probably just went on welfare. The unemployment rate will continue to fluctuate as people run out of UI benefits.

You do realize that the smaller a population or group, the percentage would be higher? and the reverse would be true, a larger population, the percentage would be lower.

Using the number to come to 15.8% of a small population, and using the same number could result in 4.3% for a larger population.

You don't know anything about me or what my views are. Go and read my posts in the link I posted earlier and then maybe you can make a better ASSUMPTION about me.

Why is it that when something is said by another person that you (meaning many) don't agree with it comes down to politics? Are all your opinions and everything you say based on your political beliefs or are you incapable of independent thinking?
