NJ has comparatively low state gas tax..... surprisingly. Apparrently the third lowest in the nation.
When there is such a significant tax difference between two states, for instance between Arizona and California, or between Missouri and Illinois, is there gas tourism?

Today you MUST get out of your car and either swipe or go inside where some person who barely speaks English stares at you with a "leave me alone" glare to perform the transaction.
Yeah, progress...
This is why I generally avoid Arco (except in town, where they're the cheapest, don't make you get out of your car, and don't charge for using a credit/debit card.

I think those activities should be illegal and cracked down on, but not making or receiving calls.
Nonsense. People swerve all over the road when dialing numbers or going through their address book, and they also pay less attention when just talking. Studies show that driving while talking on the phone is just as bad driving while drunk.

Sure there is, just like tobacco tourism, liquor tourism, and fireworks tourism.

I don't think people plan a trip based on gas costs. Me knowing Virgina had low gas prices I'd always plan to fill up there before leaving the State but I didn't make a point to drive through there.. The locals living near the borders would certainly take advantage of this especially if they were driving in and out of the State every day. I'd imagine many from NY that travel into NJ every day buy gas there.
As plwit suggested its the same with other things like alcohol, tobacco etc. In the case of the fireworks that's just because they are illegal in some states and you would have to travel across state lines to purchase them at all.
Flamingo & Maryland, eh? That's pretty close to where Tupac was killed.
