Homosexual activists assert that morality and immorality is self determined, ie, each person decides for themselves what is right and what is wrong. Without God's moral guidance, there is no right or wrong.

The concept that all men are endowed with certain rights no man, or group of men (government) can take away took time to overcome the previous status quo philosophy that might makes right. Yes, it is a bit ironic that the Declaration of Independence was written by a slave owner.
Obviously, slavery is incompatible with the principle of self=ownership, as are transfer payments, vice laws, military inscriptions, etc.
