Good point, Eleanora!
This not an isolated or insignificant occurrence. There is a disgusting wave of anti-semitic crime and violence in Europe. European Jews are beginning to leave some European countries to Israel or the US because the situation is becoming intolerable.
I live in West Philadelphia and we have a sizable Muslim community here, not one but two Mosques within a mile of my house. The Jewish community has no problem with the Muslims (the synagogue is a few blocks up the street, and there is a fine kosher Deli three blocks away, also two Orthodox 'Chabad Houses'). Everyone gets along. A local Moroccan restaurant even donated catering services to a local Sephardic Jewish banquet (the owner 'Brahim, is very friendly to the Jews).
This is only anecdotal evidence that Muslims, Christians, and Jews can be on friendly terms.
However, I believe there is a growing campaign against the Jews by Muslims in many places around the world. They use Israel as an excuse, but they mainly target non-Israeli Jews.
Remember when two Jewish synagogues were bombed on the Sabbath in Istanbul, Turkey ... who suffered death and injury? ... Turkish Jews!
