Because we Americans have voted in too many people who will take your money and re-distribute as they please.

As a NJ'ian we're double whammied here because we do this at the state level, BIG Time.

You've got it wrong...

Having corporations using government (elected officials) to create winners and losers, by making sure those who are elected, work for them.

Unless spending limits in campaigns are enacted (like in Canada), big money will always win. (party names don't matter to money)

Yup..just up our taxes cause revenues are falling a bit short.

If Obama would have dialed the local Dominos shop instead of wasting taxpayer money flying out a pizza chef from Chicago then maybe they would not need a bailout.

Well here are just a few 'peeps' that you somehow missed:

This is nothing new. We're spending billions on subsidizing advertising. Several years ago Alaska Airlines had a plane with a big salmon painting on it. The paint job cost $500,000 paid for with a grant from the federal govt.
Local News | Any way you slice it, the salmon plane is pork | Seattle Times Newspaper

What's interesting about the Dominoes story is that at on one hand the taxpayer pays for ads to promote pizza, while on the other hand the taxpayer also pays mega bucks for people trying to figure out how to discourage the consumption of pizza:

I'm sure the dominoes story is but the tip of the iceberg.
The Government pays for advertising and R&D as well for these companies.

Is that really the job of the government ? I know they should create a favorable environment for business but to pay the tab as well ? USG finances are in no condition to be subsidizing these things.

You are telling us government pays for the research and development of a pizza! That is a little over the top assertion, don't you think? Show us some form of documentation that is the case.

I know that government will pay for R&D for medical cures, vaccinations, and that sort of thing but for you to claim this extends to pizza is nothing more than you taking an opportunity to mix in hyperbole.

Do you work for Fox News?
