Lee might not have owned them outright, they belonged to his wifes family, read the link, interesting.

As I stated before, Lee despised slavery calling it evil in plain english. He had set all his slaves free in 1854!

It really had nothing at all to do with the slavery of black African people.
This is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

The people who believed in owning other human beings were the ones who were opposed to slavery. The people who disapproved of owning human beings were the ones who were trying to keep slavery in existence.

I wouldn't want to be driving in your vicinity, since you undoubtedly hit the brakes when you approach a green light, then lean on the accelerator when the light is red.

Nothing wrong with that.

[it's part of the nation's history - no point in ignoring it]

What complete and utter revisionist BS. Detroit was extremely racist long before the migrations:

Detroit Race Riot of 1863

"Whatever of prejudice exists against the race is being inflamed to its utmost intensity. We do not say that this is right; but that it is natural, and that all the signs of the times indicate that the project of ni**er citizenship will receive a baptism of blood which will appal the authors of it, and will cause the poor deluded ni**ers to curse them….yet the effort to force a degraded race into equality with Northern free white men will be resisted, and successfully resisted, and the ni**ers, not the abolitionists who are befooling them, will be the sufferers.61"
Detroit Free Press, January 8, 1863

No ... this is just typical of your stance on many issues. You cannot seem to embrace new information even when it is carefully and logically laid out before you. You're a member of the group of the same usual suspects that are inextricably bound by established opinion based on false concepts and manufactured "facts". In this regard, you're a slave.

There is no crime in being ignorant ... as this is a condition of simply lacking more accurate information, while stupidity is born from the act of automatically rejecting new information which could free you from the former condition.

King had more in common with Lee than he ever did with Lincoln or any yankee warmonger. Get over it.
