Ah Randall Terry. Ever the tasteful and historically accurate little loon isn't he? Because I'm sure offending Jews and blacks by using our tragedies to push his desire to force women into childbearing will surely bring both blacks and Jews to his side!
I have mixed feelings about this. I think it's highly inappropriate, but at the same time I'm a strong supporter of freedom of speech. I'm just not sure what restrictions should be placed on that right.
Yep, free speech to anyone who can afford to pay for it
They tried this last year, and the add was pulled due to public outrage. Likely the same thing will happen again.
Speaking of public outrage....
Bottom Line - Mercedes apologizes for using Che Guevara image (http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/12/10142807-mercedes-apologizes-for-using-che-guevara-image - broken link)
5...4...3....2.....1.....the left will be and that the commercial be outlawed.
If the average viewer writes in and expresses outrage, and the broadcast network yields, again, will you blame it on liberals or the government? Its not the government, and a lot of people don't want to see aborted fetuses while watching the super bowl.
The very thing that these evangelicals say they don't want, scaring and hurting children with obscene and violent images, they want to do to "get the message" out about abortions.
I know that cows are treated awfully daily, and cut up into itty bitty pieces. But that doesn't mean I want to see it every day.
Its not a liberal thing, its people that don't want that kind of violence displayed during the most televised event in the world. Its just like trying to show penthouse adds during the superbowl. The evangelicals wouldn't like those now would they?
Graphic images shown during prime time, such as that, should be preceded by a warning that parental discretion is advised.
I think all broadcast should be that way. If NBC wants to show porn at 11pm, then I think they should have that right. As long as it is labeled properly with proper time for parents to know what is coming on.
But what I find hypocritical is that the same people who rage against violent and disturbing images on TV, are the same people wanting this add to go through.
