I dont know how anyone lives without at least a state ID

the exact same people that I wrote in my post...the old, and the poor, the ones that don't have Drivers licenses probably may not have a need for checking accounts. I don't even carry a purse half the time, just stick cash, a credit or debit card in my back pocket and I don't need an ID with me.

You all realize, I hope, that in many states an individual can be charged with "failure to produce proper identification" if asked to by a law enforcement official.

I don't have a problem with voter ID laws, but if people want those laws, everyone should be issued a voting ID card with our basic info for free. We shouldn't make voting harder to do, but make sure that everyone gets a vote.

Go read upthread. You will see what happened. What a mean, nasty ass*umption that she is still driving.

The freakin' thread title says that DEMS oppose photo ID. I was pointing out that it can affect Repubs too.

I swear, with you RWs, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't!
LOL

How about Dade county and Katherine Harris stopping the vote counting to usher Bush to an illegal victory? Doesn't that count as fraud?

Of course it does. All voter fraud should be eliminated.

Where is this? If driving a car, one must produce the driver's license. If riding a bus, or walking down the street, not so much.

I provided a link showing that the states that require ID also give people FREE state ids so they can vote
