Exactly... I guess the OP would support leniency on this man since him losing his gov. check would mean that his kids wouldn't eat. DUI... what a ridiculous law.

Why are you opposed to the bill other than this POS getting what he deserved which is a separate issue. Every human is hypocritical by nature. You cant live your daily life with out some hypocrisy melded in.

They should be forced to always use coupons when they purchase food. Penalties would be applied to overweight welfare parents since they are eating to much and using up money that should be used for the children. Government needs to form a new department to oversee welfare parents to make sure they help their kids with homework.
You do realize that coupons are overwhelmingly for processed foods, right?
Which are part of the obesity epidemic in this country.

And do you really think that cash welfare payments aren't used to purchase over-processed foods? Poor people are by far the largest purchasers of cheap, junk food whether it's with cash or gov. money.

I've seen some people use Lone Star Cards (TX's version of food stamps) to buy cookies, chips, and the like, then request cigarettes and lottery tickets that they are somehow able to pay for separately.

My question - why not forgo the cigarettes and lottery tickets and spend that money plus the food stamp money on healthier food?

I don't think failing a single drug test should get someone completely cut off.

Plus, this was alcohol, not drugs. Alcohol is legal.

If he has to go to jail because of his DWI, then he should go to jail. His crime has nothing to do with the idea of drug testing welfare recipients.

I don't see how anyone would be against those who recieve welfare being drug tested.IF this republican is found guilty then he should have the same punishment as any other GA citizen. The founder of MADD also got a DUI as should she get the same punishment.A judge in a town that neighbors mine just got his second DUI.I'm tired of these people who can put laws in place and think they are above them. The guy should get exactly what you are I would get and I'm as conservative as they come
