The White House also got advance notice that the company had agreed to postpone delivering the politically damaging news, according to the e-mails provided Friday by a government source.
The newly released e-mails show the White House fretting about the bad news that was coming and discussing how to handle media questions about a company the Obama administration had made a showcase of in its effort to use taxpayer funds to create clean-energy jobs.
But NOT fretting about the coming layoffs to all those people?

I wonder if the timeliness of "dumping" this on Friday had something to do with it being a three-day weekend, and they were hoping it would "go away" by Tuesday?

Of course that is the reason. The Friday night document dump is SOP...but I thought candidate obama said something about transparency and ending the status quo of DC politics.

Now, I wonder why the company was ASKED by the DoE to delay the "news" one day AFTER the 2010 elections.
