Only 25 cents? On July 4th the average U.S. cost will be a record breaking $4.25
According to the EIA the average US household uses about 1000 gallons per year, the additional expense annually would be $250. If you don;t think $250 is not that much I'll give you my address and you can send me a check every year for that much.
This 25 cents is in addition to other costs like ehtanol.......
It is very obvious that Ms. Jackson and her cohorts are ready to pound us on the price of gasoline. They are ready to attempt to force a cut in the amount of sulfur in gasoline and I believe that they are pushing this one as part of the failure of the Congress to pass Cap and Trade for the administration.
Raise it 25 cents a gallon. Hell, raise it a dollar a gallon -- in exchange for ditching those g#*damned CAFE mandates so that we can drive cars with style again instead of everything looking like a stupid jellybean on wheels.
I'm not stupid and and have structured my life to not use much gas. Perhaps others should try to be smarter and minimized their need for gas.
Easier said than done in an increasingly transient society where people and jobs move all over.
I did exactly what you suggested. Moved to a city, use public transportation when practical, went to school in the city, got a job in the city... and then they moved my job location 20 miles out to the suburbs. So now what should I do in your facile "I'm not stupid, you should be smarter like me" world?
I never said it was Bush's fault, d.w. The point is that the President has little or no control over gas prices, regardless of the political party he belongs to.
