My daughters were born in 1992 and 1997 in the State of Virginia. I am an American citizen and their father is a citizen/subject of the United Kingdom who has lived in the US since 1990.

Are my children natural-born citizens eligible for all the rights accorded to any other US citizen whose parents are both US citizens. Including running for public office?

Why or why not.

you will never be able to make much sense out of a birther's answer. besides you didn't supply enough info, is your child black or of another race that isn't white?

It's not only about race. Some of the birthers are going after Romney now as well.

Yes your children are natural born citizens and will be able to hold any political office they wish too.
Ignore the birthers, they are nothing but crackpot bigots.

What would inspire you to ask this question of Birthers?

That's like asking a homeopath for their opinion on chemotherapy.

Because your daughters were born in the United States, they are eligible to be President of the United States regardless of their parentage. Had they been born in a foreign country (Kenya for example), they would not be eligible to be President even if both parents were native born US citizens.

I guess I was just wondering what their arguments could possibly be, or if they were aware of the huge numbers of mixed-nationality families living here in the US, and by extension, the many elected officials of such parentage serving in political office unquestioned.

You will never get a rational answer from a birther. It has nothing to do with where Obama was born which was verified a long time ago to the satisfaction of anyone sane. Look at Orly Taitz, who when confronted with it went bananas and refused to even look at it when it was shoved in her face. Even after being disbarred and fined for all this ridiculous crap she has done it is the world after her, not her problem.

My mother is from Germany, and by most birthers arguments about parentage I wouldn't be eligible to run for office either.

Wrong, as long as both parents are citizens the the child is automatically a citizen too no matter where he or she is born.
