Five posts in and it's switched to bush blaming. Nice job swooners. You get a silver star from KOS for this?

I'll repeat, it's an idiotic thread based on nothing substantive.
And your post is another left leaner attempt at deflection without a whole lot of substantive speech.

They are just deflecting as they do on every thread they can't really deal with. We should be feeling sorry for them.

If I don't see the sum total of 4 Trillion in this thread I will not believe it. I can add. You people are carrying over late term Bush spending and putting it onto Obama's total. You think Americans are fools... unfortunately a lot are. Actually the figure I heard yesterday is 6 Trillion since the 10 Trillion at the close of Bush's term is now 16 Trillion. So... if you would, please, let's have a proper accounting and then we can sling the mud. Is that too much to ask. Millions cease to have any relevance when Trillions are the main point of a discussion.

Yes, I'm sure you would like for Bush to get a pass on destroying the country. When it is realized that that is, in fact, what his administration has done his body will be exhumed and desecrated. All those Trillions and no one said boo to a goose. Now you are getting excited about 1.8 Million... not Trillion.. or even Billion... but Million. Do you realize how pathetic that is? Of course not. But it is. Pathetic. Be ashamed.

And of course - we have no money.
Perhaps you could make better use of your time and look up what entitlements mean and then tell us what power the President has to stop them. Look at the rest of the budget and let us know what you realistically could get away from cutting and what impact that would have on the economy.

In the short run, there are not great cutting solutions. You'd be better served to go looking at those who caused this mess. Incidentally, McCains plans were almost identical to those of Obama.

What noexcuseforignorance said is right.

What views like yours displays is that the right wing propaganda that the deficit is due to Obama spending on new government programs has worked on the weak-minded.

If the right-wing is right, where are the big new government programs? The stimulus is over and ObamaCare doesn't kick in till 2014.

The vast bulk of its spending goes to the big five: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defense, and interest on the debt.

But what about recent deficits? They’re caused mainly by a fall in revenue and a mostly automatic increase in spending on safety-net programs.

Now, Obama didn't invent Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defense, and interest on the debt and Obama didn't invent the economic downturn that has largely cut revenues that created the deficits. Yet, when he tried to increase taxes on the rich to help reduce those deficits, the same people who scream about how dire the debt is had no interest in raising taxes from the lowest point in 80 years on the richest people in America.

So, if your answer is smaller government, either you need to be talking about cuts in the big five, or you have no idea what you’re talking about.

What Bush spent in 8 years, Obama topped in 2. In fact he dwarfed it. Does that make everything Bush did right? No, it just makes what Obama has done much worse,
