Yes. Doctor's responsibilities have nothing to do with their sexual orientation... unless you're personally into it, in which case that is YOUR problem.

LOL

Apparently someone thought this thread was worthy of a sock puppet.

Default Should Gay Doctors be Allowed to Practice?

Yes I think he/she should be allowed to practice. I'm not sure if he/she should be open about it or not with his/her patients, some folks wouldn't care but on the other hand some would. I had never thought about it before.

Do you feel the exact same way about a woman preferring a woman doctor? Should women not be allowed to request a female gynecologist?

a) You CAN express your ideas. They're just stupid and offensive. See? Now I'm expressing mine.
b) This "issue" is not important at all.

If you choose a male or female doctor, the whole purpose of that is so you can relate to them. Right? Sure it's silly to think that way, but a lot of older folks are like that. Many older men want a male doctor.

A gay male = straight female (or close to it)

If this is not true, then why do feminine gays act like women?

JUST TO MAKE THIS CLEAR: Me personally, I dont care about gender or sexual orientation when it comes to doctors. This discussion is to address the uprising issues (and ongoing) of america
Except that gays are becoming more accepted, not less. If this was ever a widespread issue, it's just not anymore. Second, a lot of people believe a lot of dumb things. We as a civilized, rational society, should not be catering to every irrational fear. You making this thread, whether you personally hold that fear or not, merely perpetuates the myth.

So, where exactly would you rate this on the scale of national or worldly importance?

Another question: do you think that this was an issue when virtually all doctors were men?
