And, there is a difference between the government providing incentives for green energy research and development and straight up giving of loan guarantees in excess of $500M to a single politically connected company.

If you want to complain about general government subsidies and speculation in a wide range of industries, start a thread about it. This is about a single politically connected company that was given millions as a kickback for their support and then turned around and kicked the taxpayers right in the teeth.
No, the thread is about government waste. Lets talk about all of it, not just one case.

We aren't going to balance the budget by cancelling Obama's pet projects. We have to undo both sides pet projects.

Solyndra is basically doing what many homeowners did when they were foreclosed on, they trashed their homes so the banks would take a loss. They're probably ripping out wiring and plumbing fixtures, dumping oil on the carpets and pouring concrete down the drains. Of course Obama will be there to write off any losses the banks take. Can't let the banks lose any money, you know.
Or allowing homeless people to move in to these foreclosed homes at no cost and occupy for free. Like the OWS people, for example.

Obama can't blame anybody for the debacle that this is turning out to be to his 'reputation'; his predecessor very wisely stopped throwing funny money down this asinine rathole two weeks before he left office, IIRC.

Using 'Chicago style political thuggery' against Chrysler's shareholders was downright despicable, yet the liberal media uttered barely a peep in protest.
