The stuff on money? Don't care.
"Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance? Don't care.

I don't care for religious beliefs being forced on me, but I honestly have never felt that the government has done that in the modern era. I think that militant atheists and others who take offense to that crap are just trying to find SOMETHING, and I think people who think that the US is and should be governed as a Christian nation with Christian values are just as loony. I think that the time for hyper-religious ways of life is has come and passed. It's not bowing to minorities, it's making things more secular so that religions and the people who follow them are treated more equally under law. That said, I don't really approve of religious law taking the place (in certain cases) of laws already in place. Our own local law enforcement, judiciaries, and legislatures (and all the way up to a federal level) should not be pre-empted just because someone feels religious means of enforcement and punishment would be more appropriate.

No churchgoing person I've ever met has ever held these views either.

You don't think people without faith work to make the world a better place? They (we) if anything know that "the Lord will provide" is an empty slogan - if anyone is going to provide, it's going to be us.

We've already had a president who was a God-fearing Christian; between the invasion of Iraq, the bungled Katrina response, the Guantanamo Bay waterboarding scandal, and the search for non-existent WMDs, I think I'll let the record speak for itself.

Did I mention that his final approval rating (22%) was the lowest for any outgoing president since Gallup started the poll seventy years ago?

Before you start talking about the 'big picture', make sure the facts are on your side.
