The President does not dictate the prices of gas and beef. Inflation is a macroeconomic wide-ranging, long-term phenomenon, and if anyone has the most direct responsibility for it, it would be the Fed - and they are also not dictated to by the President.

Food prices are dictated by supply and demand plus cost to market place. When the cost of fuel to ship goes up and it has the past few years, the cost is passed to consumer.
Food stamps the government issues can effect food prices.. no matter what the cost , a food stamp recipient will purchase that milk or common products because they are not actually paying for it. If the price goes up they will buy it and the product will disappear off the shelf.

The food item is still being paid for, just not by the food stamp holder. So from that perspective, it's like any other purchase at a supermarket. I don't think it's likely to be a major factor in food prices.

Actually it makes perfect sense. Food stamps impact the demand side of the equation and since the recipients aren't impacted by income restraints, inflation doesn't impact them. They have no reason to seek substitutes.
The government will simply give them more food stamps to cover the rising food costs.
