Gaiever also appeared on a full page ad denying climate change funded by the Cato institute.

The Cato Institute is funded by ExxonMobil, Phillip Morris the American Petroleum Institute (API) and Koch Family Foundations.
Not too strange...huh?

These periodic propagnada posts in denial of global warming are getting really monotonous. I've never seen one that was not debunked when you followed the money trail.

I posted this over in Science and Technology a couple of days ago:

U.S. carbon dioxide emissions continue to track lower than year 2000 levels, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Monday, extending this century’s downward trend in U.S. emissions. The new data rebut assertions that the United States needs to impose new restrictions on coal-fired power plants and other sources of carbon dioxide emissions.

Interestingly, EIA reports U.S. emissions rose more than 15% during the eight years of the Clinton-Gore administration but have declined since.

Does it really matter what anyone says about this issue. Both sides will always argue that they are right and the other side are idiots The fact is we won't know the volume of impact we have on this planet until we are all long dead. In the mean time we should all do our part to take care of what we have and not ridicule ones that are more passionate about it than you.

I apologize, I thought the statement was self explanatory. Doesn't happen often.

So do you have anything to back up your statement about the tornadoes being uncharacteristic?

Normally I'd have no problem with the Great Algore making a few bucks pandering his dogma but unlike those TV preachers selling tickets to heaven, this church isn't getting donations, it's digging right into pockets through the IRS. Reverend Billy Bob's Silver Cathedral & Cathouse won't devastate the economies of the entire western world so I prefer not to capitulate.

i agree with you to a point. understand however that while we need to be good stewards of the planet, we cannot save the environment to the detriment of the humans living on the planet. we need to balance what is good for the environment with what is good for the humans.

i think we should reduce dependence on fossil fuels, we should develop renewable sources of energy, we should recycle as much as we can, and we should develop environmentally friendly products. and we should preserve the environment as best we can.

by the same token however, we need to let farmers grow the crops that feed the world, we need to let the factories build the things we need to run the world. we need for there to be a variety of power plants that use a variety of fuels to make the electricity we need to run the factories.

there are already enough laws on the books regarding dumping toxic chemicals for instance, so rather than impose more restrictive laws, lets enforce the ones we already have.

there has been a long running change in the types of technology we use, as we learn to make things more efficient. this has been happening in the private sector for decades, and it is driven by what the public wants. take light bulbs for instance, we know that LEDs last much longer and use less energy that incandescent or florescent bulbs do, and as such development of better LED bulbs is moving along quite nicely WITHOUT government pressure.

Hilarious!

The money is ALL on the side of AGW - millions, billions from governments, foundations, etc.

NO warming for 15 years - but we KNEW that and so did the cabal (just read their emails to each other).

Forget global warming - it's Cycle 25 we need to worry about (and if NASA scientists are right the Thames will be freezing over again) | Mail Online

Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.
That must has KILLED them to do that.

That must has KILLED them to do that.

This is why the rhetoric has changed to "global climate change". Warming doesn't apply this week. Back in the early 70's the mantra was "global cooling". Only a liberal can have it both ways.
