To further elaborate on your lies and distortions, I find it appalling that the government or the "state" (since you like to play silly little rhetorical games) to force private businesses to be smoke free.

I think bars and restaurants should allow smoking, if they want to. However, if they do, then minors should not be allowed in.

Your appeal that I am this radical statist is a complete schism from reality. However, you are just another person who cannot tolerate a different viewpoint without ushering statism into the conversation.

I will repeat. I never advocated for government intervention for a parent smoking in a closed car with a child.

However, given your response, we have a fundamental disagreement. While you champion the right of a parent to harm and neglect their child without limits, I disagree. A parent does not have the right to harm their children with harmful activities, and that includes feeding your kids to death with bad food.

Therefore, I do believe in state intervention when parents are killing and neglecting their children. For example, why should a newborn child live in a crack house? The parent has no right to subject their child to this behavior.

I do not think the state should intervene when a parent smokes in closed windows in the car. I think it wrong, as I do your attempts to silence my vocalization on this point with hyperbole and deflections.

Please take your hyperbole, distortions, and silly little emoticons elsewhere.
YOU don't think people should smoke in their cars when they have their kids with them. PEOPLE should do something! PEOPLE should say something!

Who, pray tell, is PEOPLE? YOU? Why didn't you {people} get out of your car and go over there and DO something? Hmmmmm?

What you want, is for PEOPLE to complain until the STATE does something.

You want the STATE to intervene when people are neglecting their children by smoking around them or feeding them too much.

Too late to dance your way out of it now......what you want is perfectly clear.

You want PEOPLE......the STATE.....to do something about it.

BTW.....your feelings about emoticons and the people who use them has been duly noted. We ALL get it......people who use emoticons are beneath you.

I am lol @ your rant that I should not be able to say that is wrong for parent to fishbowl their cars with secondhand smoke with a child present.

Why on Earth do you support this behavior? Why do you support parents subjecting their children to harmful behaviors?

It may not be looking down on anyone, but it's certainly a case of sticking your nose it where it doesn't belong. To equate smoking with child abuse is a far stretch even for an ardent smoke-Nazi.

Question: If second hand smoke in a car is so dangerous, why aren't I dead? My Mom and Dad did it for years and my brothers and I are in our 60's and still truckin' right along. And, this was back in the days before air conditioning so there was NO air circulation unless the windows were down.

And, my kids are all in their 30's with no ill health, yet they too had to "endure" the smoke from my cigarettes and my wife's.

What's your answer to that?

Again, take your lies, distortions, and silly little emoticons elsewhere.

If you don't want anybody to step in to stop it, what's the point of this thread? Just another smoker bashing exercise?

Abortion.....No problem, just don't smoke while you're murdering the child.

Maybe harming a child with second hand smoke....PUT THEM IN JAIL!

I am in the middle seat. Two smokers two elderly ladies sat on both sides of me. Oh my gosh, i literally wanted to kill them. I was now starting to make faces, i do that when i am annoyed.

I had smoke coming at me from two directions Puff Puff and more Puff . I could not take it, i am alergic to smoke, so i was the one to leave.

These two old ladies stayed their puffing on those damn nasty cigarettes. You would think that some people might have a bit of compassion, for those around them.

My sister in law is a fine Nurse for a very large well known Hospital.

She will be glad to sit anyone of you down, and let you know just what the consequences of second hand smoke are.

Very bad for babies and young children.

May I ask a dumb question? If you're that sensitive and intolerant, why do you go into casinos knowing fully well there are people in there smoking?

It's a bad idea but so are lot's of things. I'm not about to advocate making something else a crime. Most of us end up in less than ideal situations at some point in life and we can't fix that with laws.

Please cite a study concluding such things, that has not been financed or otherwise connected in any way to a health care establishment, pharmaceutical company, or any other entity that would stand to profit or gain in any way off of anti-smoking legislation or the sale of cessation drugs?

Oh please. One of the oldest arguments in the book. Smokers are more than paying their own when it comes to medical expenses through medicade and medicare. Ever hear of the "Master Settlement Agreement"? How about the "State Childrens Health Insurance Program" more commonly known as S.C.H.I.P??? Look it up and know what you speak of before you do the speaking.

Not to mention the football stadiums { in which the smokers are told they cannot smoke in or around it after it was their taxation paying for it } paid for by the lowly smoker and who knows what other pet projects that the middle class tobacco user is raped in taxes for. The football stadium is no joke, look it up, happened in Cleveland.

Your argument sir, is invalid.

If the gov't were to outlaw smoking all together, there are MANY government programs that would go bankrupt within a week. The LAST thing the gov't wants is for you to quit smoking. Do not fall for the tactic used by ANTI's, they are not looking out for your best interests. Do a little in-depth research, follow the money, and discover the truth behind the war on smokers.
