The fact that the birthers take the paranoid ramblings of mentally disturbed person who was born in the former USSR as "the truth" really serves as a testament to how low some of the more radical right-wingers will sink.
Can you imagine if the situation was reversed, and a Soviet-born nut-job had tried dragging a Republican POTUS through the court systems over some clearly trumped up nonsense? The cries of "OMG LIBRAWLZ R COMOONIST SIMPATHIGHZERS!" would be deafening. It's fascinating that some conservative extremists seem to be so good at demonstrating irony yet don't seem to actually grasp the concept itself.
One or two of the birthers who post here seem like otherwise intelligent people. I just don't get how they can buy into this crap. It's a shame. More shameful is watching some of the willful misinterpretation of past court decisions - basically amounting to one sticking their fingers in their ears and saying "I can't hear you! Neener!"
In the end though, it's not really my concern if people want to delude themselves. I'll be over on the reality side of the issue, along with Historian Dude and the other non-self-deluded people here, who have very effectively debunked every single claim brought forth by the conspiracy theorists. Every. Last. One. Just because the theorists refuse to admit as such does not change the reality of the situation - they have been proven wrong, at every turn.
Even if that article was true it wouldn't mean a damn thing because it has never been decided exactly what the difference is. Unless you can provide a bona fide legal decision defining what natural born is then you don't have a case, you're just tailoring the definition to fit what you want
[QUOTE Natural born citizen status requires one to be born to two U.S. citizen parents on U.S. soil (Minor v. Happersett). Very different from what you falsely believe is claimed.

No, Minor v. Happersett does not say that. Furthermore that decision was in 1874. Seven years after that decision President James Garfield was shot and killed and the man who replaced him, Chester A. Arthur, had a father who was born in Ireland
Also Woodrow Wilson's mother was born in England and Herbert Hoover's mother was born in Canada. Both were President after Minor v Happersett
On the contrary. I think the information posted by Historiandude is clear, concise and credible. I think it is the anti-Obama claims made in this thread that are outlandish and pure fantasy.
If someone is so certain that President Obama is ineligible ... why hasn't he been removed from office? Wasn't it the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court that swore Mr. Obama into office in the first place?
When will Obama be removed from office during his term in office?
When?
Personally I think that will never happen.
I guess some people have such a red-hot seething hatred of Obama that they cling to the belief that some miracle will happen and he will be thrown out of office, his appointments invalidated and his presidency erased from history. Well, that's not gonna happen!
And even if he was thrown out Biden would become President and he could easily issue an executive order reinstating everything Obama did. The bills he signed wouldn't have to go through Congress again because they already have, same with any of his appointees which have either already been approved by the Senate or didn't need Senate confirmation

Get with the program. Due to the citizenship laws at the time, the mothers of both Hoover and Wilson (prior to their births) gained U.S. citizenship through derivative marriage to their U.S. citizen husbands. That made both Herbert and Woodrow (at birth) natural born citizens because they were born to TWO U.S. citizen parents ensuring them both born sole allegiance to the U.S..

Did you read University of Virginia Professor Gilmore's lecture on Vattel's Law of Nations.
He writes Vattel's chapter regarding natural born citizen is used in the Constitution.
