While I have to agree with most of your post, one of the problems with many (not all) movements beyond the two-party system is that they are prone to exterme "solutions"; Franklin Roosevelt moved this nation significanly leftward, but had he failed, with the Republicans in deep disgrace, the door would have been wide-open for the populist likes of Huey Long and Father Coughlin. Parliamentary democracy was on the verge of disappearing entirely from this planet in the darkest days of the 1930's

I belong to the Libertarian Party; register as such mostly because it needs a minimum number of members to keep itself on the ballot under state law. But I often work closely with local Republicans. With the Democratic Party now clearly unter the stewardship of its leftmost wing, it's very seldom we can find common ground, given their near-total opposition to the free-market advocacy that lies at the center of my beliefs.

I'm sure that any number of people who hold to beliefs they view as "progressive" would hold similar reservations vs. the Republicans No problem, so long as the fight is fair and old scores aren't settled too heavily.

No. It's a serious mental condition exclusive to the extreme right like West.

Perhaps you're the one who should move to France or some other loser-nation where your prejudices won't handicap you as much.

Or you can stay ... but I wouldn't trust your kind with any capital more sophisticated than a mop and broom.
So now if we use the phrase "the people" that means we're commie? Very interesting.

Reality alert here, Barack Obama is the President of the United States, the ones trying to get him out are the ones who are trying to change America

The "person" is much more important than the "people".

This nation was formed on the freedoms of the individual.

Socialism is anything BUT freedom.

Being as intelligent as you feel you are, I'm sure that you remember the failed socialism that was tried by the Pilgrims?

A lesson from the Pilgrims (OneNewsNow.com)
Best example of socialism i can think of is a Monastery or Convent. Comunes, the Shakers and to some extent the Amish. Socialism left to its own devices has worked very well.

The only time socialist practices fail is when they are undermined by you wingnuts.
