DEA inquiries into medical marijuana industry include legislators
Diane Sands is used to having her name taken in vain.
That's just part of being a liberal from Missoula in the Montana Legislature.
But her name surfaced recently in a way that offended and troubled her at a profound level.
A possible witness in a federal drug investigation was asked whether Sands might be part of a conspiracy to sell medical marijuana. The questions came from Drug Enforcement Administration agents from Billings who were investigating medical marijuana businesses, and Sands learned about the inquiry from the witness' attorney.

Wow, so more Americans than not favor full legalization of Marijuana and the DEA is prosecuting legislators in favor of Medical Marijuana. Unbelievable!
The DEA is more concerned with keeping their own jobs in demand and keeping the overtime pay flowing in. It is time for the DEA to be disbanded or focus solely on drugs that actually cause harm to people like Prescription Pills, Heroine and Crack-Cocaine.
My opinion, it looks like the Federal Government is just lining themselves up to start taking away powers from the States. Maybe I just need to tilt my tinfoil hat more. If they can take out State Elected Officials on this one issue, what is to stop them from doing it on any other issue?

It could explain why politicians who actually support legalization don't come out. Blackmailed.
There's just too much apathy over affronts to civil liberties. If it doesn't directly affect them, people don't care. Heads should roll over this kind of thing at the DEA, but you know that won't happen. One more reason why I expect that I will be voting for Ron Paul in my caucus meeting next month.
