For it

Remembers a time when the GOP liked it to incentivize taking lower wage work over welfare.

Now we see 999 replies a day about how 47% of the (loser, worthless bum, undertaxed) population pay zero or less taxes. (forgetting payroll taxes of course.)

I consider it a justifiable complication to the tax code. I would prefer a simple deduction equal to the 90th percentile of all income from all sources. Let the people that have the resources pay the taxes while the rest of us live on our wages.

It's wealth redistribution, plain and simple. A way for politicians to buy votes. Get rid of it and lower regressive taxes to help those in the lower income brackets.

I'm ok with lower income families not paying any taxes at all but when you got people getting back almost 10k at the end of the year off of a part time minnimum wage job than something needs to be fixed.

people are being rewarded for having children they can't afford.

and i'm a lefty too

You all so realize that EVERYONE who makes below i believe $40k is entitled to this credit right? So that means not only dems but repubs take full advantage of this credit. This is why when i hear wealth distribution and buying votes, entitlements I just laugh because this is NOT a us vs them when it comes to redistributition and entitlements

It may be "wealth redistribution," but I see that as a good thing, something we need a lot more of in this country. I'm in favor of the EITC.

Everyone should pay the same %

You make less? You will pay less overall.
You make more? You will pay more.
