It's hilarious how the GOP elites are trying to prevent a black man from fleeing the plantation. More proof that the GOP is the party of the ole confederate South.

First it was the hit on Herman Cain, and now some prominent Florida Romneytards are trying to make Allen West disappear:

I am not making the connections that the re districting has something to do with racism or Mittens. The leader of redistricting has been a surrogate for Mittens in the past and to that I say he has horrid taste and so what. The part about racism does not register either considering that West won the last election by 9%. Could it be the {R} leaders looked at that big win and thought West could still defend his seat even in a more {D} district?

The state is adding 2 seats and you know which ever party is drawing the lines they will be drawn to favor their party over the other. There is nothing to see in this poorly written illogical story unless you have more info.

Why is the GOP trying to re-district Allen West out of his congressional seat?

Even a broken (analog) clock is right twice a day ... so even the GOP, the party of extremists, can sense when a true whackjob is in their midst.

No, what this really is, is more proof that Democrats leap wild conclusions based on apparitional data . The "hit on Cain" came from left-leaning Politico and far-left leaning Gloria Allred, not from the GOP. Anyway, what really did in Cain was the meltdown performance in a Q&A about Libya. If you compare a timeline of Cain's polling vs. the sex charges vs. the Libya talk, it becomes clear. Cain stayed on top well after the sex charges came out, but not after the Libya talk. That came from Cain himself, not some vast GOP conspiracy.

Secondly, I see zero evidence that Romney is behind the redistricting plan. If you have some, please post it.

It's doubtful West himself was taken into consideration versus the likelihood of netting two reliably Republican districts. Besides he won in a fluke in an already moderately Democratic district and probably wouldn't hold the seat very long. This isn't limited to Florida either. The GOP-controlled North Carolina legislature is looking to gerrymander several new reliably Republican districts to set up a majority delegation but in the process they'll likely be wiping out Walter Jones Jr., who himself is a long-serving Republican in a district which already has a Cook PVI of R+16, meaning it's about as red as it gets.

I agree. Even most Republicans (mostly Romneytards) are embarrassed by the teabaggers that make up the GOP base.

It has nothing to do with race. I'm wondering why anyone should join today's Republicans. And, contrary to some liberal dreamers here, republicans want very much to snag the TEA party vote. They are not embarrassed by these patriots - rather they want to pull them onto the Republican wagon and along for the ride to the polls.

Just look at what is happening within establishment Republicans against Newt, who is viewed as difficult to control vs. Romney. The establishment wants someone they can control.

Leading the redistricting effort is one of Mitt Romney’s spokemen. Florida Representative Will Weatherford, during the course of his remarks after the FL debate shed light on the redistricting process.

An unnamed legislator said that, “Allen West was screwed”, about five months before themaps were made public, leading insiders to believe that the fix was in. According to Weatherford a deal was struck between him, Senate President Mike Haridopolos, and Senator Don Gaetz to finalize these maps and push them through.

Weatherford used the excuse of needing to comply with federal law, but it is said there were other ways to comply yet not sacrifice West.

A website http://www.saveallenwest.com/ had been set up, but it appears to be too late.

A good man, a rising star in politics, is about to be sacrificed by the Republican establishment in Florida, led by someone spinning for Mitt Romney.

A couple of points, it is laughable that {R}s are trying to paint that the establishment is against Newt. Come on, if Newt is not part of the establishment then who is? The anti establishment candidate is Paul but the {R}s are trying to convince the ignorant that it is Newt. No matter who wins the Establishment has their man.

Back on subject, if you would have linked here you would have saw Weathorford said this :

These new standards have resulted in disrupting the current districts for incumbents. The Tampa Bay Times stated that the House, Senate, and Congressional maps represent “a record-breaking shakeup in incumbency.” It has been reported that at least 38 members of the Florida legislature do not currently live in their district.
There are rumors that the Florida Legislature has targeted Congressman Allen West. This is patently false. I personally have supported and endorsed Allen West. I will continue to support this extraordinary member of Congress who has brought a much needed conservative voice to Washington, D.C.

Will Weatherford: The Florida legislature has NOT targeted Allen West » The Right Scoop -
There are strong rumors that Romney is just another progressive, as Obama. Even stronger rumors that he is favored by Soros. IF both Mitt and Newt are "estblishment" in your mind, then one has to look closer at which of them is being propped up, endorsed, supported and pushed at the expense of the other, and ask why. While I'm not a fan of either, I do think it's evident that Republicans are willing to step on one while they try to lift the other to their shoulders. One needs to ask "why?"

As for: There are rumors that the Florida Legislature has targeted Congressman Allen West. This is patently false. [b]I personally have supported and endorsed Allen West. I will continue to support this extraordinary member of Congress who has brought a much needed conservative voice to Washington, D.C.

"Methinks thou dost protest too much."

[Most of those rumors come from insiders, who probably know a lot more than the general public knows.]
