I am a registered Democrat. I voted against Bush in both of his elections.
Carter was one of the worst, if not the worst, president in the management of both foreign affairs and the economy. In addition to that, he has disgraced the office of the presidency by gallavanting around the world literally embracing terrorists and murderers.
That view is not a centrist view, you being a registered Democrat, whatever that means, doesn't change it. Centrist isn't about party registration, it's about ideology.
Oh hey... let me pretend to be a "centrist" so I can bash Carter. That's a real LOL-fest right there.
Hey folks? Can someone explain to me why is it that when Bush is ridiculed, a bunch of the righties around here all go bonkers and start screaming that it's the past and off-limits, yet crying about a Democrat president from the '70s is A-OK?

Some people think that having far right and far left views makes you a centrist. I guess they figure they cancel each other out? Or someohow voting Democrat makes you a centrist. I don't know.
He visited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation today. One of my friends works there. He was apparently asked about our current political situation, to which he replied that our country's political state is (direct quote) "the worst it's ever been in its entire history".
1) I'm a centrist
2) I don't need to read his bio. His presidency can be summed up in one statement: He gave away the Panama Canal. For Free.
3) He's widely regarded as one of the worst presidents of all time. Nice guy. Horrible leader.
Not only was he one of the worst presidents in history but he is absolutely the worst ex-president in history.

Sorry, but anybody who tries to claim that doesn't know history. Go Google Franklin Pierce, for one. There have been much, much worse.
