FactCheck.org : Blame Jane Falsehoods

Problem is, there will always be at least one fool who believes it and passes it on.

The damn thing must be making the rounds again. Maybe because it is an election year?
But she isn't running for office.....

The RWNJ's don't care about Newt's lurid immoral dishonest past but do care about what an actress did 40 years ago????

Just when I thought my opinion of Repugs couldn't get any lower......

Many of those stupid statements have been altered and become urban myth.

She said stupid things during a stupid war, people want to blame her instead of those who started the stupid war.

She was 34. A kid?

I've seen far more people supporting our alleged purpose in Vietnam while bashing Jane than bashing both.

She was a stupid adult with no official standing saying stupid things, those who got us involved were officials who betrayed the public trust, I don't think their degree of 'wrong' is comparable.

What you haven't seen the stupid chain emails?

How about the "open letter to Obama" supposedly written by Buddy Hackett's wife. First off, nothing against Buddy Hackett, but why should anyone care about his wife's political opinion? The whopper though was that she supposedly wrote the letter in 2009 - in fact she had passed away in 2007.

'We Noticed' (Sherry Hackett Letter to Obama) - Urban Legends

I got a couple of those emails that even had a picture of a smiling blonde who looked nothing like Sherry Hackett.

Then there's the baloney about Obama voting for a palatial prison in Cook County IL. The prison exists, it is however not in Illinois, and not in the US. It is in Austria.

snopes.com: Cook County Correctional Center

Bottom line, it is election year so watch your inbox for the tripe that the RWNJs mindlessly forward. You can always do what I do and find info refuting this garbage and hit "reply all."

Oh, okay. Got it!

Did we really need ANOTHER hanoi jane thread?

One would think the OP would have a clue as to how people felt about her if he/she/it had read the 164 posts in the hanoi jane thread which was started in P&OC on 1.31.2012.

I would say that you have no idea what the Truman Doctrine and the Eisenhower Doctrine were about. Maybe if you did you would have more of an idea about why we got into that war.

Of course, you do know that the people who sent more men in both times belonged to the Democrat Party, I guess.

The number one answer is: I have no view of Jane Fonda whatsoever. She never enters my mind.
I do remember her first lesbian scene:
