You might want to dust off your recollection of events.

Read about the fighting between Iran and Iraq, Iraq was fighting with T-62, MIG's, SU's and Iran was fighting with F-4's, Chieftans, M-60's etc.

Iran

Oh yeah, those Iranian loving Saudi's of yours were involved too.....

Only generous financial support from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the other Gulf states, who feared the consequences of an Iranian victory saved Iraq from bankruptcy
And whom gave them wheapons after the war got under way? Everybody...using Saudi money.....

In January 1983, an Iraqi-Soviet arms deal was signed in Moscow, which led to the Soviet Union supplying Iraq with T-62 and T-72 tanks; Mig-23 and Mig-25 jets; and SS-21 and Scud-B missiles.[82] By 1987, the Soviet Union had provided Iraq with 800 T-72 tanks, and dozens upon dozens of modern fighters and bombers.[82] Between 1980–82, France had supplied Iraq with $5.6 billion worth of weapons such as fighters, tanks, self-propelled guns and helicopters.
The US provided intelligence and mostly non-military stuff like trucks. The intel was really key in terms of the Iraqis being able to bombard massing iranian forces.

You think their opinion of Iran lends some credibility to our efforts to attack Iran? That is warped.
Apparantly our *puppet* also despises Israel....odd of us to let them do that.

You have ZERO knowledge of middle-eastern relations beyond "Israel bad".

Oh well, you don't even know about the Shiite vs. Sunni thing sad sad sad....

I'm fully aware of why Saudi Arabia doesn't like Iran. It seems to be some 7th grade fact you are proud to be aware of.

You seem to think that's some big plus for your argument in defense of the US and Israel attacking Iran.

How twisted that is to give a flying **** what Saudi Arabia thinks.

You knowledge of military aircraft is neat. How old are you?

I was referring to the overseeing of military technology transfers to Iraq in support of their war with Iran. The USA did that.

Nobody is talking about your military toys you know the names of...LOL

I don't think so. Pakistan also has nuclear bombs, and lots of radicals and nuts, still both the Indians (there are also Hindu radicals and nationalists that are not much better than their Muslim counterparts) and the Pakistanis have refrained from using them.

The very fact that for whatever odd reason only some countries are allowed to have such weapons and can thus bully the rest, forces countries sick of being bullied to get those weapons themselves as they are an insurance policy.

Yea, i kinda had a feeling that Iran would really go nuclear crazy once their citizens had a feeling that their nuke program is under siege.

We're going to have to live with a nuclear Iran, so we may as well get used to it.

You need a full time fact-checker, it's really that simple.

Yep the sooner they get the better. They are a country with 74 million people threatened by one of the most aggressive, bigoted Nation on earth. Iran is more than twice the size of Iraq. 6.2 Million Jews are not going to dictate the policies of a country that large in area and populace. It's not viable in the long run. Despite how tough and macho they think they are.

Agreed. It's a well established fact that if a country really wants to develop nukes they are quite likely to succeed.

I personally don't buy into the "Iran will do something crazy" hype.

In fact, as sad as it is....nukes are a proven regional stabilizer.

Good post.

I would comment that Nukes are also a burden as well as an insurance policy. Your comments, behaviors etc. as a nation carry a lot more weight and as such it can be a burden too.
