And why is my tax money being spent to produce puppet shows for Palestinian kids? While the economy here is in shambles, we're entertaining savages half a world away? Let the parents who brought them into the world put on a puppet show for them... And I'd say the same about producing entertainment products for anyone anywhere else!

So what? All humans are kids at some point. Nothing unique there.

I didn't bring them into the world, I feel no connection to them, they're not citizens of my country and I feel no allegience to them, I'm not responsible for them in any way, and I resent using even 1 cent of the tax money I work so hard to pay being used to entertain them.

I provide for my own children. My concerns and compassion are first for those properly within our own country.

Of course you're free to use your own money to go there and help them.

Good, it was just a matter of time until al-Elmo (peace and blessings upon him) launched a suicide attack because the Swedish Chef doesn't cook Halaal food.

Where in the Constitution is the part about the role of the US Government being responsible for taking money supplied by taxpayers and using it to entertain the children of peoples (not a nation in this case, just a desert tribe) who have called for our destruction?

Use your money to buy some puppets, take them over there and put on all the shows you want... on your dime. Don't use my money to assuage your ill-placed pangs of compassion. Have a great trip!

This programming will do far more than the greatest efforts of politicians in changing the hearts and minds of a foreign nation.

Few seem to mind we spend $50,000 per soldier/ minute for all we have deployed. Send a band of men home and this would be paid for for a hundred years.

I agree this is not a role for the federal gvt and with the amount of our massive debt it should be cut. The article did not mention if tax payers/borrowing was paying for the show in Israel. As stupid as our leadership is we probally are, and it should be cut as well.

This would be a good ministry for the private sector and should rely on donations.

It's not our job to educate or feed or provide otherwise for those people.

A Marine vet once told me, "We were told that if we can't quickly and efficiently win their hearts and minds, then our job was to separate their hearts from their minds."
