Newsflash: Austerity is the last thing a government should do during an economic slump.

Government should never cut spending. It's dangerous. Libertarians and conservatives only want to make matters worst.

Because it is.

Now that we gave away millions of good paying jobs and wages are dropping, people need to tighten their belts. Lavish spending is not good, austerity makes good sense.

Newsflash: Keynesian economics has been conclusively proven not to work.

Alas. One should read more before making such comments. I would refer you to read the words of your Keynesian champion, Stiglitz ( a Nobel Prize winner) and his books.

Obviously, you have never read these books (I have read them). When you read the words of the champions of YOUR ECONOMIC THEORIES (this is just not just sh*t house interpretations of the "word" of liberalism, but the truth from the mount), you come to understand that it is A LIE AND IS COMPLETELY WRONG.

Perhaps you should actually read the words of the people who command you, rather than relying upon a distilled and second interpretation of this information. If you can still evaluate information objectively, you will be SHOCKED. If you are simply a leftist robot, you will not understand.

Understand that Stiglitz, the poster child for your economic presumptions, has been shown to be DEAD WRONG over the last three years. Keynesian economics is a fraud and has resulted in the destruction of those economies that have embraced it. Don't be a fool- actually read the SOURCE of the pablum you are fed. IF YOU DID SO, YOU WOULD NO LONGER BE A LIBERAL.

Given that you will NOT READ, you will remain a liberal. Understand what Mark Twain said-

"Those who will not read hold no advantage over those who cannot read".

God help you. However, since you do not believe or fear in God, this will be of no consequence to you as well.

Right when the recession happened, we should have sucked it up and swallowed our medicine. Instead, we kept drinking and prolonging the hangover.

If you are going to spend, then spend on investment and infrastructure, not on paltry tax breaks and handouts.

I really don't know why this is so hard to understand.

Keynesian economics is what got the US out of the Great Depression.

Austerity has never worked.

Austerity is what we need to prevent a future financial disaster.
