SlcPunk:: My wife works in the healthcare field, and you are badly mistaken if you think the health care system is not being regulated. Medicare officials came through her hospital today, and all the management was bowing to them like you wouldn't believe. They didn't like where wheelchairs were being stored, so they must be moved. Medicare and Medicaid are a huge part of the healthcare system, and those two entities dictate a lot to the health care providers. Obamacare regulates the healthcare insurance system. The FDA controls the drugs. How bad does it have to get before some of you open your eyes.
The govt. has almost totally taken over the mortgage market from the banking industry. The govt. controls GM. Slowly but surely, the govt. is taking over and controlling more and more of the economy.

You must have a serious problem reading. Both the OP and SLCPunk were talking about the OP's claim that the health care system has been NATIONALIZED.
Anything you say about health care being regulated is utterly beside the point.
In your defense, there are many right-wing demagogues who are claiming that regulation = nationalization, so you are probably to be excused if you buy their nonsense.
Excuse me Jack, but if they tell you how to run your business, how much you can charge, how much of a profit you can make, what services you must insure, what people you must hire, and what wages you must pay, how much different is that than nationalization?? If they come in and tell the hospitals how to operate, even now trying to force Catholic hospitals to perform abortions, granted, it doesn't mean the govt. owns the business, but its not far from it. In fact, its better than nationalization because then the govt. doesn't have to worry about getting sued, and if the insurance company or hospital loses money, or goes broke, it doesn't come out of govt. coffers, but the pockets of the investors and owners.
That agenda in the opening post has the state in absolute power supplanting religion as the new God.... that is absolutely the totolitarian dream of a current Democrat... the Republicans want a totolitarian state with different control than that
Here are just a few of my predictions of where this country is going and where we will be in 20 years.
-The US government has completely nationalized the banking system as they did healthcare.
-Homeownership is a thing of the past; The government owns all homes and they provide all citizens a home according to the size of their family and their income.
-Every citizen is required to have a National ID implant which contains an RFID chip to track everybody.
-The Interstate Highway System has been closed to non-commercial traffic as part of a green initiative. To travel, one must first get a permit from the government to leave their jurisdiction. Government-run high speed rail lines are the only way to travel between states for regular citizens. Air travel is becoming exceedingly rare.
-Motor vehicles must be licensed by the government and it is extremely difficult to get a permit. Occupying an unlicensed motor vehicle bears a penalty of a minimum of 10 years in federal prison. Bicycle and public transportation have become the preferred method of travel.
-Christian churches are not allowed to display religious symbolism on the outside of their church building as to not offend non-Christians; churches are taxed at 90% of their income, so most Christianity has moved underground; Christian television and radio broadcasting has been banned
-September 11 is "National Islam Appreciation Day", a day of celebration for the contributions Islam has made to the world
-Supreme President Obama is still President after getting the constitution amended in 2016 allowing for multiple terms, amended it again after being re-elected in 2020 allowing congress to pass a referendum allowing the sitting President to hold the office for life. Upon the death of Obama, Congress can either select a new President or allow the nation to vote, whatever it so chooses
-The government limits families to one child per household as has been for decades in China. If a woman is found pregnant with a second child, an abortion is forced. This is to limit population growth.
-Urban sprawl is banned, humans are banned from living in rural areas unless they have a specific reason to do so i.e. agriculture. Special, very rare permits are required to visit national parks or national forests.
-Internet service providers have been nationalized and the Internet is censored by the government. It is a felony with a punishment of life in prison to be caught accessing an unfiltered Internet
-All firearms without a special permit have been banned; permits are near impossible to get
-The government has instituted a national police force larger than the US military to enforce the law of the land from sea to shining sea and to keep people from leaving their jurisdiction without a permit
-Its a felony to openly believe that homosexuality is sin; Gays are not only a protected class but receive special benefits from a government that discourages reproduction
-Homeschooling is banned; Grades K-16 are mandatory, after which the government will place individuals into a job based on their skills
-All television and radio broadcasts critical of the United States government is banned and anybody who broadcasts anything critical of the government can be convicted of treason.
