After thinking about this topic for awhile, I think some of the posters have been too hard on the OP. While I will be the first to agree that some of his ideas are a little "out there", some of his predictions aren't all that impossible. Why?

Well there are all kinds of things that have happened in the past, that I am sure people thought could never happen and did, and some of the things that have happened in the last 35 years or so, I would have thought impossible. Govt. does some crazy things some times

Who would have thought that the govt. would outlaw incandescent light bulbs?
Who would have thought that the govt. would require every citizen to purchase health care insurance? What if its half your income. I guess the govt. would just say: tough.
How does the Calif. state govt. expect to enforce a law that requires 15 % of the cars sold in the future to be zero emisions vehicles. What if no one wants to buy them? Is there are lottery and they put you in jail if you don't buy one?
35 years ago, I never imagined that the country would legalize gay marriage.
Before 1925, who would have thought that Germans would need a wheelbarrow full of cash to buy a loaf of bread.
When the USSR collapsed, you could have knocked me over with a feather. I couldn't believe it. ONe of the two superpowers just ceased to exist overnight???

So my point is, I think it is we need to be careful when we say, "that could never happen"
