You'll have to lay blame for that at the feet of white women...or women in general. Or the men for falling for it. Seems that blame can be tossed all around on that count.
What do you disagree with....that white and black men are born with an equal drive to assert themselves?
My post was quite clear in acknowledging the difference cultural influence makes. What you seem to be saying is that the black experience amplifies the machismo behavior patterns and what I said was that the white experience stifles it. I think we agree more than disagree.
OK...I get where you're going and can agree that this is a very valid observation.
I don't know why. There are lots of reasons. The only thing we can do is educate the ones that are (as I do with those in my family) and show them the error of their homophobia.
I disagree. It's all about the balance of power. White men, on average, don't HAVE to assert their masculinity. Hell, they can even choose to entirely cloak it and be "metro-sexual". Why? Because they are automatically respected in society. The BEST is assumed about them.
On the other hand, the WORST is often assumed about minority men. This is true pretty much along all socio-economic levels, but it is especially true among poor minority men. So, without the automatic respect, what does one do? For many, they choose to demand/take the respect that is not automatically given. And like I've mentioned, many channel their energies in totally inappropriate and negative ways.
It is an entirely unfortunate phenomenon. I WISH minority men would stop giving an eff about someone "respecting" them. I wish that they would choose to fight back through the power of their intellect rather than the force of their fist. This is an attitude that wears off as one ages, but unfortunately, by the time one reaches an age where you would outgrow the need for society's acceptance you are either in jail or dead.
At least they're not as anti-gay as white Republicans.
As a "White Republican", only because there isn't a "constitutionalist party", I am not anti-gay. It is really bad form, AND inaccurate, to accuse based on political party. That's like saying "All democrats are socialists", or All blacks are felons.

(Shaking head)
This silly little upside down game that the bored sheep of the developed world have been gleefully playing for the last 25 years, whereby perverse and repulsive sexual behavior has been deified and promoted while condemning any and all who opt not to hold hands in the same circle of controlled thought, is going to come to an end sooner than you think. The world is changing fast and is rapidly changing the priorities for the average person to things that really matter. We simply don't have time for this kind of nonsense any more.
Today forums such as this are filled with hand-wringing about "homophobia". But those who you brush aside today as "errored" will tomorrow be attempting to show you the error of the PC indoctrination of the late 20th and early 21st century that mutilated the view of reality for a whole generation of youth. People who never had a chance to think for themselves and won't until late in life begin to understand the damage done to our social fabric by this bizarre social experiment.
I'm sorry to disagree, and have many many gay as my good friends.
Not only repbulicians who have problems with gay people, that is absured and gay statement in and of itself.
I have many many friends, due to business and personal. There are a lot of people out there who definitly have issues with Gays. They come in all races, and clolors, male and females, different nationality and different religions.
They each have their own reasons, why they have problems with the gay community. Many, and imagine this a lot of the people i know against gays of any kind are my democriatic friends, not kidding, my republicians friends, really don't find this an issue, at least the friends that i have.
To say just one group is plain ignorant, everyone knows there are many even on this site, who have for what ever reasons problems with gay people, and i am not one of them.
