Exactly right. It doesn't matter one single whit what ebergy agreements we make with China. The fact of the matter is that Canada is obliged by the NAFTA deal to sell the USA 40% of production if and when the USA wants it. When the pipeline to Texas is built I imagine a lot of the oil will be loaded on tsankers nd taken to China anyways. That's the only way the Chinese will get any because Harper's "Gateway pipeline" to the BC coast is the definition of a "Pipe Dream". It will never be built.

Canada had far more important things to export to China anyway. Potash will always be needed in China's Phosphorus deficient soils. Canada has actually opened a university in China to teach the Chinese how to build timber framed buildings out of Canadian lumber of course. Even New Brunswick way over on the east coast is excited about this. Their dimensional lumber is actually superior to the west coast lumber and they are counting on selling billions of $$$ of 2 by 4's to China.

.
So naturally the dramatic slowdown in permitting offshore wells, on-shore leasing and other drags the Obama administration has put on domestic energy is costing the whole world in terms of higher prices.

Thanks for clearing that up.
