If they get a waiver then they have to implement part of Race to the Top.

Among the details:
-Give up state based curriculum for the National curriculum defined by RTT
-Teacher evaluations will be based on student test scores

Here..read more and there's a link to the Government document.

Duh, there are no government stores.
By your reasoning, you're not using any reasoning.
You want to gut and remove funding from the public arena that is an entitlement program for ALL kids through age 18 or graduation.

You want something special, buy it on your own.
Lobster is not provided for with food stamps; general sustenance is.

Exactly. Yet your tax dollars fund food stamps which are spent at private stores. Same thing can be done with education. Get it now?

Default Today is a SAD day for American children. Very sad

With the teacher unions finally getting their way and killing off the No Children Left Behind program, they have effectively ended any pretense at reform. This comes on top of them killing off the low income choice programs in DC and Wisconsin and trying with various degrees of success to kill off public charter schools. This is why we as Americans will LOSE. We all lose when the teacher unions win.

I agree, the program was about teachers not passing kids through with phony grades and diplomas not worth toilet paper.

Well this is what they got with a 400 million dollar teacher's union donation to Obama. What else should we expect?

This is why Obama needs to be gone.
The teacher's union need to be gone.
We need a pension tax to recapture all the over payment to government employees.
We need to get the unions out of government because they use the American tax payer dollar against the taxpayer to get more money, power and retirements not found in the private sector.

Why? Because the teacher unions don't like it? They don't like anything that forces them to actually teach!

No, parents should be able to do what they can do now and move their children to a better school.

No child left behind had teachers teaching to the lowest performing students.

Its a good think that its repealed, maybe you should learn something about it before you denigrate the order.

Had nothing to do with unions.

There are schools here in CCSD that have A and B students that cannot pass the graduation test or make over 600 on the SAT or even score a 31 on the AVSAB to get into the Army! This is what teacher unions do!
