Personally I think the Greek saga will end in some type of coup and exit from not only the euro but EU.

Unrest Flares on Streets of Athens - WSJ.com
Quote:
—Clashes broke out in central Athens Friday as Greece's major unions launched a 48-hour nationwide strike to protest new austerity measures demanded by the country's creditors, adding to social tension in a country now in its fifth year of economic recession.
Hundreds of hooded youths in the main Syntagma Square in Athens attacked riot police with gasoline bombs and other projectiles, smashing objects in and around the square.

Late Thursday, some 9,000 demonstrators—mostly from the Communist-backed PAME union—marched in central Athens to oppose the austerity reforms, according to initial police estimates.
Leftist parties, which openly oppose the cost-cutting measures, have seen their popularity rise significantly in recent polls, posing a new threat to the mainstream parties now supporting the government if elections are called later this spring as planned.

9,000 persons marching in Athens is unworthy of notice. It's a very small crowd for such a large city that's experiencing so many problems.

True but these things start of small. The French Revolution happened gradually and then descended into blood letting. How many people landed on Cuba with Castro from Mexico 30?

It is note worthy in at least one respect. It is yet another fine example of the violence by the leftists. The loony-left are incapable of protesting peacefully, anywhere.

I have seen footage of the amount of poverty spreading in Greece now, I can absolutely understand those demonstrators. They have nothing to loose...

UE is over 20% and folks are abandoning babies at least according to one account I read. I wondered why people simply don't move but many people only speak Greek so they are not that mobile.

Yeah, they should sit down and shut up.

They need worker bees, not human beings. They don't need to express themselves, they need to get to work.

Not sure why they are marching. Greece is running out of people to tax to death so they can sit around the cafe and sip whatever they sip. That is what happens when you bleed the producers to feed the non producers..evenutally you run dry.

Violence by leftists? You mean starting pre-emptive wars against other nations over non-existent WMD's where tens of thousands end up dead?

It's amazing that the Greeks haven't overthrown their government yet. I hope like hell that they don't break out into a full on civil war. But it's pretty clear that something has gotta give.
