This for one. All the fell gooders would of course blame somebody else.

"Russia's main gas-company, Gazprom, was unable to meet demand last weekend as blizzards swept across Europe, and over three hundred people died. Did anyone even think of deploying our wind turbines to make good the energy shortfall from Russia?

What would happen?

"..the sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect!”

- from Hillary Clinton, mocking Obama's speeches back in 2008

I think the same sarcastic remarks would apply if we relied on 'green energy' - but this time they'd be coming from me.

I don't believe in relying on any one source or type of energy. We need as many options as possible.

Not every state can go the same level of green either. It's not a one size fits all.
And we are nowhere near being able to get off oil.

I'm not sure of the point of this thread... I mean... no wind turbines... I get that... oil and gas, rah, rah, rah... and? People died. Hundred's... the gas people were unable to do anything about it. Likewise the oil people. And the point is? That wind is bad? Solar is bad? Isn't this a bit like hitting the kid next to the one who actually did something wrong because he is 'sensitive' and 'precious' and easily frightened? FAIL!

Sounds like an argument made in 19th century Nantuckett about the critical need for more whaling.

The "green agenda" will put us back to the 19th century.

I agree. Let's not even try. If we wait long enough the earth will make new oil. It only took 2.5 billion years to cook down the first batch.

In a situation like that I would cut down the trees or what ever other wood I could find in my yard and burn it in the fireplace to keep myself toasty warm and to boil water with... So I would have some potable drinking water and cook a giant can of beans and package of hot dogs to eat over said fire for dinner...

I live in the PNW and well there is no reason with all this wood to use as fuel in a fire around to die of extreme cold temps..Being prepared for such a situation like that prevents it from becoming what is just a minor issue from turning into a major life or death issue.
