Think Americans!!!! Think!!!!

Lower minimum wage = fewer people get marred = lower government assistance because single childless adults get very little government assistance.

The logical extension of that reasoning is eliminate government housing regulation but they never go there.

However in society now, minimum wage is way below what someone can actually work for and still survive so the rest is provided by the state through tax dollars (like section 8 housing, free medical care, food stamps, etc)

Section 8 housing is very hard to get, the vast majority of low income people can't even get on the waiting list.

the stupidity is that NONE OF THIS MATTERS when you keep pushing more "workers" into the country!

again, more obama stupidity, with his new amnesty program:

Immigrant information

Estimate of eligible immigrants today: 950,000

Estimate of immigrants who will be eligible in the future: 770,000

Total received: 308,935

Accepted: 298,834

Rejected: 10,101

Approved: 53,273

Under review: 124,572

Top countries of origin

Mexico: 212,514

El Salvador: 13,769

Honduras: 8,577

Top states of residence

California: 81,858

Texas: 47,727

New York: 19,320

Florida: 15,318

Illinois: 13,904

sad to see that florida is #4, but can't say that i am surprised now.

you keep bringing low level "workers" into this country, you are going to keep having a problem with wages and unemployment.

DUH, obama! and liberals have the nerve to talk about what wages should be.

do liberals not understand, or not care, that we are in a recession-headed towards a depression?

here's another story to back up that last story:

CHINO HILLS, Calif. – Residents of a Southern California suburb are protesting against a hilltop home that they say serves as a maternity center for Chinese mothers paying thousands of dollars to give birth to so-called "anchor babies."

Dozens picketed a Chino Hills intersection on Saturday, holding signs that read "No Birth Tourism" and "Not Here! Not in USA!"

The city's mayor tells the San Bernardino Sun that rooms in the house have been rented out to pregnant Chinese women until they give birth.

Protesters say they don't want to see a business in a residential area.

Kelly Good tells the Sun the come legally on tourist visas, but their intention is to give birth in the United States so their children would automatically gain citizenship. She said that's a "false pretense".

just keep bringing them in, and don't even worry about how to pay for it, but make sure you whine about "wages" while you are doing it.

that's the liberal way!

americans should be outraged, but most aren't because they are now dependents of the state and have no voice anymore.

The system of Federalism was designed to leave most policy making decisions in the hands of the states. That way we could have 50 laboratories testing different solutions. The best ones would be adopted by other states and the bad ones would quickly be fogotten. People could also vote with their feet to leave states that had policies they didn't like. We really need to get back to that system of government.

States have an incentive to repel the poor; I do not trust any state to do the right thing. Poor people voting with their feet is merely exchanging one suckhole for another.

you might say that states would have an incentive to end poverty, because they can't collect taxes from those who aren't working or producing.

states need those productive citizens to pay for the schools, to pay for the teachers, to pay for the roads , police, and infrastructure, etc.

we aren't getting anywhere with more "dependents", and less "workers".

do you see that some states are trying to fight the illegal immigration because they actually understand the cost ramifications of allowing all those people into their state? (and the federal government clearly does not, as they try to force states to bend to their will).

we can pretty much forget long-term pensions.

Pretty much.... I have worked with near min wage jobs and it is rediculous people other then teens, and retirees have those jobs.
